LEGACY OUR LEGACY

The history of the Doyle Law Firm stretches back to the 1920s, when the firm of Levy, Levy & Barker was formed. After numerous changes in partners and firm names over the next 60 years, the firm was renamed to Barker & Lain when Dennis R. Bettison joined the firm in 1980. Patrick F. Doyle joined the firm in 1990, and in 1997 the firm was renamed to Baker, Doyle, Apffel & Bettison. In 2003, after Stephen W. Baker was appointed Associate Judge of the 306th District Court, the firm was renamed to Bettison, Doyle, Apffel & Guarino, which also reflected the addition of Michael J. Guarino, former Galveston County Criminal District Attorney, to the firm. With the election of Darrell A. Apffel to Galveston County Commissioner, Precinct 1 in 2016, together with the desire of Mr. Bettison to wind down his practice, Mr. Doyle formed the Doyle Law Firm.
